I'm going to be an Artist in Residence at Gwaii Haanas! Artists in Gwaii Haanas is a collaborative effort between Gwaii Haanas National Park, the Haida Gwaii Museum, and the Haida Nation. For 10 days in June, three artists (two artist residents of Haida Gwaii and one visiting artist) will be guided by a Parks Canada staff member into remote areas of Gwaii Haanas National Park.
Art connects us and creates space for new experiences and dialogue. This is the true value of a work, whether it is a piece of theatre, music, writing, sculpture, dance or a painting that somehow moves us.

Buffalo Lodge finally gets set up at Siksika for the pow wow, despite gathering storm clouds, aggressive mosquitoes and prickly thistles.
Every year, we travel out to Siksika Nation for the August pow wow with our tipi. It's like going home. Old friends, and a familiarity with the land, the wind, the sun and the moon all contribute to a feeling of well-being as we begin to set camp, days before the actual event. This year is a bit different, with filming for the CAMP project involved.
