As the summer comes to a close, it’s raining in the valley, only about 5 degrees today and I can see snow on the Three Sisters mountains from my studio window. My daughter even wore her winter coat to school today, and it’s still only August!
With the change of seasons, come new things. I’m busy prepping in the studio, a series of small linen panels and substrates for a long upcoming residency at The Banff Centre. Residencies always excite and scare me at the same time. One can plan but never really know what work will come out of a concentrated and secluded amount of time.
The mystery of what I speculate will come as the muse is most stimulating and frightening.
New things are coming everywhere and my Canmore representation, Elevation Gallery has a new blog to transition into the fall. You can visit and see what is new and upcoming there at “Fresh Ideas & Images”. Enjoy!
Best wishes on your residency Janice. How long is it? I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time. They say those experiences are priceless and really allow artists to dig deeper into the message of their art.
Hey Vanessa. I’m sorry – I just saw this posting now. I’ve had my head down painting for the better part of a month and am just winding up the residency this weekend. It’s been a fabulous experience.
